CLARCOR ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF SYNTHETIC FIBERS
FILTRATION PRODUCT LINE FROM NEWTON TOOL COMPANY


FRANKLIN, TN, February 1, 2007 – CLARCOR Inc. (NYSE: CLC) today announced that it has acquired the synthetic fibers filtration business from the Newton Tool & Manufacturing Co., a privately-owned engineering and machining company based in Swedesboro, New Jersey. The synthetic fibers filtration business, including all of the related production equipment, will be moved into CLARCOR’s Purolator EFP operations in Houston, Texas and Shelby, North Carolina. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Norm Johnson, CLARCOR’s Chairman and CEO, said: “We are very pleased that we had the opportunity to acquire Newton’s synthetic fiber filtration product line as it will enable us to further expand the number of products that we now provide the fiber manufacturing industry.”
